Twitter reveals top trends of 2010

Twitter has revealed the top ten subjects that its users were tweeting about in 2010, with the Gulf oil spill heading the list.

Measuring all new mentions of particular trends, the Twitter zeitgeist showed the world was talking about a mix of global news stories – such as the Fifa World Cup – and celebrities, like the internet star Justin Bieber.
