Twitter rescues TalkSport show

When TalkSport DJ Ian Collins got stranded in snow last week, unable to make it to the studio, it was Twitter that allowed the show to go on.

Helped by TalkSport presenter Duncan Barnes in the studio, Collins spent the three-hour show sending tweets, which Barnes then read out live on air.

Listeners were then encouraged to join in the simulcast, which took the #thelatesnow tag to the top of the UK’s trending topics.
