Twitter causes Ashes confusion

A new Twitter ‘celebrity’ has emerged after users looking up information on the Ashes cricket series stumbled across the account @theashes – not an official account, but the profile of 22-year-old Ashley Kerekes.

Not wishing to miss out on a good-will advertising opportunity, Quantas Airlines and Vodafone have offered (via Twitter) to get her to the competition.

However, after her number of followers shot up, Kerekes tweeted: “I AM NOT A FREAKING CRICKET MATCH.”
