NoW to face PCC investigation

The Press Complaints Commission will re-examine evidence of phone-hacking at the News of the World.

The self-regulated press watchdog closed its investigation in November last year but will look again after new allegations emerged.

The PCC will have to wait for the Met police and parliament to complete their respective investigations before it can re-open its own case.

The PCC “will look further to establish what lessons can be learned for the industry, and the PCC, to prevent this from happening again”.
