Newsquest increases pay offer

The pay freeze across all Newsquest titles – active since 2008 – has finally been lifted after a bout of industrial condemnation.

Journalists across Newsquest centres have been offered a two per cent pay rise, although none have currently accepted the offer. The National Union of Journalists hasn’t yet called off a proposed strike due to take place on the 6-7 January.
