Microsoft gives in to WordPress

Windows Live Spaces, Microsoft’s answer to services such as MySpace, will be integrated with WordPress.com within the next six months, in a deal that suggests the company has given up competing in the tough world of blogging.

Microsoft’s struggling service will integrate with WordPress.com’s platform, which already boasts 26 million users and accounts for 8.5 per cent of web content.

Customers will have their accounts and information transfered later in the year.
