Metro to go seven-day during Olympics

The London freesheet Metro will have issues published at the weekend to cover the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer.

Publisher Daily Mail & General Trust plans to print 325,000 copies of the weekend issues across five weekends during the Games. Both print and tablet editions will be published.

Editor Kenny Campbell says the Olympic specials will provide readers across the UK with “a great Metro experience seven days a week”.

The Olympic issues will have a particular focus on the Games taking place in London, with sports editor David Gurney and his team “gearing up to cover the euphoria of the Games in true Metro style”, according to Campbell.
