Blur set to debut new songs in Twitter ‘gig’

Ever-aging Brit-rockers Blur will debut two new songs on Twitter in a unique experiment into live-streaming on the platform.

Ahead of their performance at the London Olympics closing ceremony, Blur will perform ‘The Puritan’ and ‘Under the Westway’ from a secret location to anyone following them on Twitter.

Twitter’s UK manager Tony Wang says the idea is a result of how the social network is connecting people all over the world with the musicians they love.

“They know what their fans want and are setting the pace for the future of artist engagement online,” said Wang.
